Price: $4.99

Age Range: 8+ (young children will need assistance from an adult)

Classification: Task Management, Chores, To-do list, Planning, Organization

Description:

Take charge of your repeat household jobs with HomeRoutines. Create routine checklists, then complete them on your chosen days of the week, with reminder notifications to keep you on track, and a gold star for each completed task. Your checklists can automatically reset - start fresh each morning, week, or month (no guilt trips here!) Free online editing and syncing between your devices.

The app is customizable to suit your home and your household. You choose how often your routines recur - with daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and seasonal scheduling options.  Detailed cleaning lists are built in with the “Focus Zones” section - add rooms and tasks to suit your house. There are up to seven zones so you can switch focus each day of the week, or choose to switch zone each week of the month.

How to use it:

Do you forget when to mop the kitchen floor or dust the curtains? HomeRoutines organizes your chores for you and breaks them up into manageable room-by-room chunks, so you never feel overwhelmed.

This app makes the mundane more fun by awarding you a gold star for each job you complete. Test yourself by setting the timer and seeing how much cleaning you can get done in 10 or 15 minutes. Assign children one “focus zone” and let the app break down the necessary tasks that must be completed to properly clean this area. This app allows you to create different assignments for different family members and you can text chore lists to your children or other household members for even easier communication. For individuals with ADHD a step-by-step list keeps mundane, repetitive tasks from becoming overwhelming and ensures that they do no miss important steps due to inattention or hyperactivity symptoms. Check off each step as you complete it to increase feelings of confidence and competence. You’ll be amazed how quickly the house is sparkling clean!

iRewardChart

Parents Reward Tracker Behavior Chore chart

Rating:★★★★

Price: iPhone app- Free, Android App- $3.99

Age Range: 5+ (young children will need supervision and assistance from an adult)

Classification: Behavior Modification, Chores, To-do list, Task Management

Description:

iRewardChart makes it easy to reward your children for good behavior and keep them motivated.

1. Type their name.

2. Select a few tasks from our list of suggestions.

3. Reward their accomplishments with a single tap in the weekly chart.

When stars have been earned, your child can pick from the default list of suggested rewards, or you can setup your own custom rewards especially tailored for each of your children, like "$2 Pocket Money" or "One Hour Of TV". Children love to feel responsible, challenged and respected. But most children don't like being told what to do... iRewardChart also allows you to set up abstract goals like "Patience" and "Sharing With Others", so rewards teach the virtues you want your child to learn.

How to use it:

Convincing most kids to make the bed, do their homework, or take out the trash can quickly turn into a battle. But what if you could turn boring chores into a fun and rewarding game?

iRewardChart encourages kids to do more around the house by making them feel like they’re in control. Even though parents choose the tasks, kids get to pick their own rewards. Whether you want your kids to do the dishes, say “please” more often, or be nicer to their siblings, this app can help you accomplish it with minimal arguing. What parent wouldn’t want that? This app is based on time-tested behavioral modification principles and can used to manage ADHD symptoms as well as oppositional or defiant behavior.
